Whenever and however you give birth, your experience will impact your emotions, your mind, your body and your spirit for the rest of your life. Ina May Gaskin

Congratulations on your pregnancy!

Based in Barnet, North London, Emily is a qualified midwife and KG hypnobirthing teacher who provides full antenatal classes based on the leading KG Hypnobirthing programme, to prepare you for a calm, confident and empowering birth experience. Courses are relaxed, practical and informed by the latest evidence.

Choose from informal group courses at an accessible local venue or one to one classes in the comfort of your own home.

What is hypnobirthing?

Hypnobirthing uses a form of self-hypnosis (no chicken impressions, I promise!) to get yourself into a deeply relaxed but highly alert state of mind. From there you can influence your mind's subconscious to positively impact your perceptions around birth, allowing your body to trust its instincts and birth in the most calm and relaxed way. It may sound a bit 'out there' but it is evidenced-based, logical and highly effective.

My course gives you the tools and knowledge to have the best birth possible for you. It is so important to have all the information to make the choices that will affect you and your baby, and learn how the system works so you can make the best choices for you. I will ensure you are prepared for your journey and provide any support you may need after.

Who is hypnobirthing suitable for?

Hypnobirthing is suitable for everyone! Whether it's your first baby or your fourth baby this course can help you achieve the birth you want. You may find this course especially helpful if you have anxiety about the birth or have had a previously traumatic birth.

When should I start the classes?

Ideally, I would recommend you start the classes at around 20 weeks to give you adequate time to practice, but it can be wonderfully effective even at the last minute. If you are approaching the birth of your baby but would still like to do the course, give me call to discuss a private intensive course.

Does my birthing partner need to attend the classes?

They don't, but they will be very glad if they do. Hypnobirthing partners are confident, informed, supportive partners and it shouldn't be underestimated what a positive impact their presence can make.

Hi, my name is Emily. I am a midwife, a Katherine Graves Hypnobirthing instructor and soon to be mama! I am experienced in caring for women and their families during the birth of their babies, and I am passionate about ensuring mamas have the preparation they need for this incredible journey.

During my work as a midwife I have become intensely aware of how fear can unfavourably affect birth. I have seen first-hand, the difference between women who believed their bodies could and so did, and those who were consumed by fear. I have also witnessed many women who were empowered and confident in birthing their babies as a result of hypnobirthing. These women often go on to have incredible natural births and become confident mothers, giving both them and their babies the best start.

As a result I wanted to help make a positive impact in preparing women, in the best way I knew of, for birth. So, I trained in the KG Hypnobirthing method, on a Royal College of Midwives accredited course, as I believe this course gives women the preparation necessary to have the chance of a beautiful, empowering birth. I am passionate about supporting women on their journey to motherhood and I love watching women grow into beautiful, assured mamas.

I know you can do it, and I want you to believe it too!

Emily
